Nolan Shaheed: The Coolest Guy in Masters Track

July 08, 2019

Today’s guest is Nolan Shaheed. Nolan is a Masters Running Legend. Over the years, he’s set 18 World and American records in events ranging from the 800m to the 3000m in every age group from 50+. Basically, every time Nolan enters a new age group, he rewrites the middle distance records in that age group. In addition to being a great runner, Nolan is also an extremely accomplished musician. He’s been playing the trumpet and coronet professionally for almost 50 years and has played with some of the most renowned musicians in the world both on tour and as a studio musician. We talk about Nolan’s unique diet, his approach to training and lots more. Nolan is a really cool character who’s love of running is infections, so it was great fun talking to him. In fact, like my intrview with Pete Magill, we covered so much that I decided to break this episode into two parts, so today’s episode is Part 1.
