Masters Milers Podcast Episode 4: Masters Middle Distance Legend Tony Young

My guest for episode 4 is Tony Young. Tony has been a standout runner for most of his life. He was state champion in the mile in HS, went on to be a highly competitive runner in college, but he truly excelled as a masters runner. From 2002-2009, Tony was a dominant performer in events ranging from the 800m to the 3000m and he set a number of age-group World and American records in those distances. He still holds the indoor 1500m and outdoor mile American records for the 45-49 age group. He also won countless masters championships during that same time period. I first became aware of Tony when I was on a team that tried unsuccessfully to break the Masters record in the outdoor 4 x 800m relay, which Tony holds along with John Hinton, Brian Pope and Kevin Paulk. Tony is also a regular contributor to the Masters Milers Facebook group, where his wisdom and humility are always evident in his posts. We had a fun conversation and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
