HOP #83: The Secret Behind Disruptive Billion Dollar Businesses with @JaySamit

April 24, 2017

"Jay Alan Samit is a dynamic entrepreneur and 'intrepreneur' who is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on disruption and innovation. He launches billion dollar businesses, transforms entire industries, revamps government institutions, and for over three decades continues to be at the forefront of global trends...(read more)"

A little over a week ago, I had shared one of the lessons from Disrupt You on Instagram, when Jay Samit reached out to me to say thank you. Less than a week later, I had the opportunity to interview him on The Happiness of Pursuit Podcast.

Through Disrupt You, Jay challenges readers to rethink their traditional approach to business and shatters any excuses that may be standing in your way. That advice is followed by tactical steps you can take today to being thinking like many of the billionaire entrepreneurs Jay has coached in his career.

One of the most simple, yet practical exercises he recommends is "to write down 3 problems you face every day. After a month, you have 90 ideas, and a theme will likely emerge. The bigger the problem, the bigger the opportunity."

What really blew me away, was the way he reframed the solution, "when you don't know how to solve that problem, find something that does..."

"Steve Jobs didn't know how to code, and he created the largest tech company in the world."

What will you learn in this episode of The Happiness of Pursuit Podcast:
>>How to find a billion person problem (and a billion dollar solution)
>>How billion dollar businesses are built
>>The importance of hard work and patience
>>The difference between failing and failure
>>Why you should focus on the impact, not income
