Current trends say it is bad to teach kids to win or lose. We penalize success and try to prevent failure all in a vain and misguided attempt to convince children that they are all the same, to spare hurt feelings and to protect self-esteem. The only problem is that it doesn’t. So much is learned by winning and losing. It is vital to preparing them for the real world.
