Treat and Release vs. Observation After Naloxone for Opioid Overdose

Standard practice in many communities involves transporting suspected opioid overdose patients to the ED after giving naloxone for a period of observation. Some communities routinely release patients who have returned to baseline, and data suggests that such a practice is safe. We review this evidence, and make our ow recommendations.
