You No Longer Have To Sweat To Eat

February 11, 2013
This entry is part 10 of 18 in the seriesWhy Does God Work?

Recently, during a conversation, someone said, ‘I’m working to put food on the table. I just have to work.’ Frankly, I was appalled at the statement, though, of course, I’m aware of the unfortunate fact that most people on this planet still view the phrase ‘no sweat no sweet’ as normal. Nevertheless, as I shared in No Sweat No Sweet, I’ve made up my mind to enjoy sweetness without sweat.

No sweat no sweet is a curse.

By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

~ Genesis 3:19

The good news today is that you no longer need to operate under that curse. Jesus Christ has already broken that curse through His death on the cross. He has redeemed us from the curse of the law.

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming accurse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.â€

~ Galatians 3:13

You are no longer under that Adamic curse. Therefore you should enjoy sweetness without sweats!

I don’t have to have sweat on my brow anymore to enjoy the blessings of God, because I’m free from Adam’s curse. Understand this about work: you no longer have to sweat to enjoy sweetness, because you’ve been delivered from the curse!

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

~ John 8:36
