    • this is partly by design: gamers, die-hard scifi fans, and the nerdsbian fanbase that comes along with the Holy Trinity of Gay that is Murray, Benz, and Kirshner (really how WoD started)
      
    • a melting pot of fans, which has the potential to go horribly wrong, but everyone’s so NICE; like to think as the show continues the fandom will hold creators responsible for great content (gamers already do this quite a bit)
      
    • really established a culture fandom already, one that makes fun of itself
      
    • Syfy can be credited with this, partly from engaging fans so early on Twitter – kept them coming back – live-tweeting really gets people to make sure to watch the show live, which can help with ratings
