On this week's podcast, Bruce & Hobbes are joined by Laurie Parsons - Board President, Elmore (NY) SPCA.

Laurie joins the boys to discuss her organization, and some of the Elmore SPCA’s terrific programs and services.

The Elmore SPCA has a powerful mission statement:

“To provide shelter and comfort for animals in need that are on their path to finding loving lifetime homes. To care for the homeless, to defend the abused, cherish the elderly and disabled, and to fight with unrelenting diligence for the recognition of the integrity of all animals.”

During her visit with Bruce & Hobbes, Laurie will delve into what this statement means, and why it is so important. She’ll also shed some light on the plight of the animals coming to shelters like the Elmore SPCA, from the South, where the situation for animals can be bleak. Organizations like the Elmore SPCA are working to change that.

Laurie will also introduce you to Douglas, a special pup who came close to being euthanized before being rescued by two of the boys’ radio friends, Stephanie & Aaron. It’s a moving story, and one you’ll absolutely want to hear!
