This episode was inspired by biologically-programmed self-deception and the ramifications of removing that programming. It was named after a West Berlin TV miniseries Rainer Werner Fassbinder directed, which is a fascinating work that incorporates philosophy, psychology, and illusions through reflections to form what is, in my opinion, a necessary cinematic precursor to Blade Runner and The Matrix.
