Episode 101: HerStory is History Series: Ruth Muskrat Bronson

June 08, 2022
Our HerStory series is very special to us. We research brave, trailblazing, fascinating women in history we would love for you to know about. Schedule time on Wednesday to have a seat and listen to how amazing this week’s woman is.

This week we are highlighting Ruth Muskrat Bronson. Ruth Muskrat Bronson belonged to two different worlds. Her father was Cherokee, and she was raised in a Cherokee community in the Oklahoma territory. She was also exposed to white culture by her Irish mother, even if only through stories. From a young age, Bronson identified with both cultures, and she didn’t want to choose between the two. People describe Ruth as being years ahead of her time, larger than life, and a fierce advocate for Native Americans
