Having been diagnosed with lupus in 2004, Cassidy Bowie didn’t have a clue what she was in for.   Her mom has lupus, but you never truly understand until you walk a mile in the shoes of someone with chronic illness.  Her journey has had some really high highs and some really low lows, but through it all, she has learned who she truly is and the journey she is meant to be on. Since her diagnosis, she has been hospitalized more times than she can count.  Cassidy has had so many surgeries, that she was on a first-name basis with the hospital staff, (cue the theme song from Cheers, where everyone really knows your name).  Multiple blood clots, a couple of pulmonary embolisms, a detached retina, a gall bladder exploding, and the list goes on and on. She has a pacemaker now too, go figure being an electrical engineer her heart would malfunction electrically, oh the irony.

For the first time ever, Cassidy sits down with Mandi Benecke and Naomi Marquez to share her story. She hopes to help inspire others, that no matter the hard times you have been through, with hard work and perseverance, there can be light at the end of the tunnel.
