Jennifer Walker joined us on EPISODE #10: DEFINING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WITH JENNIFER WALKER where she helped us understand Domestic Violence. Today, she’s back to tell us about trauma and the effect it has on the brain, truly fascinating! Jennifer has her master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.  Her program concentration was in domestic violence, program management, and policy development. Since 1999, Jennifer has been the executive director of the Crisis Center, an agency that serves victims of family violence in Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln counties in Colorado.  As part of her duties, Jennifer provides training and consultation specific to domestic violence, program development, non-profit management, and board development. Jennifer also teaches at Metro State University in the Human Services Department. Prior to her work at the Crisis Center, Jennifer worked for 13 years within the Criminal Justice System as a victim advocate for the Weld County and Denver District Attorney’s Offices and as the Coordinator of Victim Services at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
