WICKidz Radio, Episode 5

October 18, 2015

From an old converted barbershop inside the area’s largest all-nude strip club comes the fifth episode of WICKidz Radio hosted by WICIR, the Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigration Rights.
WICKidz Radio is locally run by youth for youth in the Ypsilanti area. The show focuses on local and national social justice issues. The goal is that listeners can learn and take inspiration from the perspectives of young people, and go out to make a difference.
In this month’s episode, the kids talk about the first Democratic Presidential Debate. This topic sparks a new conversation and leads to Andres leading a discussion about the prison industrial complex in America. Later in the show Manny talks sports and the tragedy that is Lamar Odom. Finally, Daphne shares a personal story about standing up for what is right in the face of ignorance at her school.
Released 17 October, 2015
Recorded live at AM1700 Radio in historic, downtown Ypsilanti, MI.
