WICKidz Radio, Episode 2

July 19, 2015

From an old converted barbershop inside the area’s largest all-nude strip club comes the second episode of WICKidz Radio hosted by WICIR, the Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigration Rights.
WICKidz Radio is locally run by youth for youth in the Ypsilanti area. The show focuses on local and national social justice issues. The goal is that listeners can learn and take inspiration from the perspectives of young people, and go out to make a difference.
In this week’s episode, the kids interview transgender activist Jennicet Gutiérrez about her work fighting the detainments of LGBTQ immigrant people as well as their inhumane treatment in detention centers in the US. The kids also discuss politics, sports, and upcoming events including Alice Bags’ performance on July 22nd at the Cafe Ollie in Depot Town in Ypsilanti.
Released 18 July, 2015
Recorded live at AM1700 Radio in historic, downtown Ypsilanti, MI.
