Refuse the News

[Isa 54:17; Ps 31:20; 91:1-2]

We live in a time of trouble and chaos – a time of lawlessness and despair. We need protection from thoughts brought on through news casts. It only takes a small amount of world news to upset most people and throw them into fear of what might happen next. Refuse the news! It is full of the devil. Cast down the news cast. In the name of Jesus. Refuse to be controlled by the spirit of fear. We have victory over fear in Jesus’ name!

Isaiah 54:17 (NASB) “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.

If we are to condemn every tongue that rises against us in judgment, then certainly, God isn’t the source of that judgment. All of God’s judgment for our sins was placed upon Jesus. He will never judge us for what He has already judged Jesus for. What great promises! And these promises are the benefits of every child of God. This is our inheritance. Thank You, Jesus!

This verse mentions weapons and then words. Words are weapons (Prov. 18:21), and we have to condemn the negative words that come against us. The English word “condemn” here was translated from the Hebrew word that means “to declare wrong.” We have to demolish those negative words before they become a stronghold in our mind. Dwelling on words spoken against us can make room for fear, and cause anger to manifest.

When a news broadcast becomes a weapon formed against you, and accuses you or takes away your God-given rights, condemn it, cast it down. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.

I’ve learned that when negative words intended for me, are cast down, right away, they lose their power. But if I wait until later, because I don’t want to offend, then it takes more time to get those words out of my mind. They start to fester instantly. So, I condemn negative words when I hear them. We have to do this. The Lord doesn’t do this for us.

When evil stands in our government and spouts off illegal “mandates” and dictates ordinances that are contrary to our Constitution and God’s Word. Quickly cast those words down from your mind. Don’t think or ponder them. Replace the evil lies with thoughts of God’s promises. Refuse to allow illegitimate rulers to open a door for fear to enter your heart. Despise the darkness, and use your energy to enter into the kingdom of God. Be refreshed by the Holy Spirit, the greater One inside you.

Psalm 91:1-2 (NASB) He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. [2] I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”

Favor and protection for those who DWELL there, not visit there. This is talking about ABIDING (LIVING) in Christ.

Notice that you have to say, “He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Our words release power (Prov. 18:20-21). The promises of God are voice activated.

Psalm 31:20 (NASB) You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.

If this is put together with Psalms 91:1, I believe we can say that the “secret place of the most High” is His presence. It’s in God’s presence that we are safe and blessed. God’s presence is always with us, but we don’t always realize it. It’s only when we acknowledge what we have that it becomes effective (Philemon 6).

Prayer:

Father, in Jesus’ name, I confess and believe that no weapon can come against me with any success, and any accusation that rises against me in judgment I shall condemn and show to be in the wrong. I believe I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. I say, “He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” I shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of Almighty God whose power no foe can withstand. I am safe and blessed in the secret place of God’s presence, hidden from the strife of the news and words contrary to life and godliness. Amen.

God bless you my friend,
