Brad Robinson & Darren De Silva: White Collar to ONE FC

August 18, 2015

Brad Robinson and Darren De Silva are two undeniable pillars of the MMA scene in Singapore.

If you google Brad Robinson, you’ll come across one of the most inspirational stories of radical weight loss and lifestyle change in the history of the sport. Having ballooned up to 320 pounds in 2008 as a result of his corporate lifestyle, Brad took the next few years to completely re-write his life.

Immersing himself in martial arts and healthy living, Brad Robinson would fight his first professional MMA bout a mere 3 years later. He is now signed to ONE Championship and has begun a successful franchise of high intensity interval training gyms known as Ritual.

Brad is now living a balanced life as a fighter and entrepreneur. The man behind his success in mixed martial arts is none other than Darren De Silva.

Darren is the founder of Fight G, the first MMA gym established in Singapore, and was instrumental in the process of transformation that Brad Robinson needed to achieve in order to reach his objectives.

Put this into perspective: From weighing 320 pounds, Brad Robinson has fought in 4 weightclasses, from heavyweight to welterweight, the weight at which he now competes.

Brad Robinson and Darren De Silva join us on this episode to discuss a crazy variety of topics from the future of boxing, to the growth of MMA in South East Asia, HIT Training vs. Cross Fit, and why we all need to shut off our damn portable devices in the evening to get some well needed sleep!

If you’re in Singapore, make sure you check out Fight G for all your martial arts training needs, and Ritual gym for your strength and conditioning!
