Many times we think that God is not answering our prayers. But could it be that we are not allowing Him to answer the way that He wants to answer them? We think we need one thing, but God knows we need something else in order to receive what we are asking for.

Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave Him an understanding heart. But the Lord was so happy with His prayer that He also gave Him riches and honor. Many great blessings will come into our lives as we ask God for wisdom to know and do His will.

In this message, I talk about how to unlock answers to prayer by receiving the wisdom and guidance that we need. Through Jesus Christ, we have access to all the riches of heaven, including wisdom. Enjoy this message today and be encouraged!

Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, “behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. “And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. (1Kings 3:11-13, NKJV)

MT When you ask God for wisdom, He will give it to you.

THE KEY IS TO ASK

 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:5-6, NKJV).

ACCORDING TO HIS WILL

You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. (James 4:3, NKJV).

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1John 5:14-15, NKJV).

-When you ask according to His will, He will give you more than you ask for … 

-His Word is His will.

WAIT FOR HIS COUNSEL

They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel, But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul. (Psalms 106:13-15, NKJV).

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3John 1:2, AV).

PAUL PRAYED FOR WISDOM FOR CHRISTIANS 

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, (Ephesians 1:17, NKJV).

JESUS HAS BECOME OUR WISDOM

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption — that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.” (1Corinthians 1:30-31, NKJV).

If Jesus is in you, wisdom is in you. Determine to walk in the spirit and revelation of the wisdom of God. 

RECEIVE JESUS. RECEIVE WISDOM

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (John 1:12, NKJV).
