The thought occurred to me this morning that we all have several of those “Where were you when” moments in our lives. The first one for me was, “Where were you when President Kennedy was shot?” I was 15 years old, and in the 9th grade at Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas. It was lunchtime, and our principal Mr. Berry turned on the PA system that fed every room in the building, and simply placed a microphone directly in front of a radio. The announcer was describing the events that were unfolding in Dallas – just 35 miles away, and obviously, classes were suspended for the rest of the day. I don’t actually remember much about the rest of that day – just how distraught I was over the president being assassinated, but most specifically that it had happened in the same metropolitan area where I lived.
