It was right before Ready To Die, The Notorious B.I.G.’s landmark debut that would help solidify the Brooklyn rappers place in the annals of music history. It was what happened in the years after that would immortalize Biggie Smalls as one of the world’s most recognizable artists. One man spent one afternoon, photographing Big just before that debut album came out, capturing images of a young man who would go on to become legend. One of the pictures would make it to national prominance in Interview magazine. The rest, would be lost for more than 20 years.

Now, those never seen images have been found, and David McIntyre wants to exhibit them in a big way. You’ll hear his fascinating story that is part of an already incredibly interesting life’s journey, listen while I lay eyes on these amazing photos for the first time, and learn how you can help bring his BIG idea to life.

But first, Queens rock outfit Hollis Brown is making noise, the kind that finds them touring the nation with the Counting Crows and Citizen Cope. These hometown heroes are riding a wave of support for their latest project, 3 Shots, which includes thoughtful songwriting, inspiring music, and a few surprises, including a collaboration with the late, great Bo Diddley. I spoke with the group’s frontman about the tour, the music and about being from New York City.
