Esther 9 and 10 are the finale of the book of Esther. Reading how the Jews got relief from their enemies, and the month that had been turned for them from sorrow into gladness and from mourning into a holiday makes difficult reading for Christians. How do we square “love your enemies” with “the rest of the Jews who were in the king's provinces also gathered to defend their lives, and got relief from their enemies and killed 75,000 of those who hated them”?

If God does not change (Malachi 3:6), then there must be a way to reconcile the apparent contradiction between these two perspectives.
