Take Up Your Mat

Inside Out w/Luke Crowley 1 Samuel 16:7

November 04, 2020

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”1 Samuel 16:7 NIV

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”1 Samuel 16:7 NLT

Eternal One (to Samuel): 7 Take no notice of his looks or his height. He is not the one, for the Eternal One does not pay attention to what humans value. Humans only care about the external appearance, but the Eternal considers the inner character.1 Samuel 16:7 The Voice

Our hearts are broken as we grieve with you the passing of our fearlessly creative and passionate Joshua Ortiz. He left a legacy of kindness, empathy and service to all people, especially the hungry, the poor and the marginalized. He was a loyal and fiercely protective friend. He was an incredibly talented designer and never ceased to push the boundaries of his craft. He was a strong leader who helped grow Ambrose Furniture Works into the beautiful trade showroom and design center it is today. He was the heart and vision of our business. While we may not fully understand God's plan in this pain, Josh would remind us that, "God is good all the time." Please join us in praying for comfort and peace as we mourn this profound loss. Thank you all for your support. Thank you for your friendship. Josh loved you. We love you.
