To kick off the new year we looked at the key to contentment and how it will help us regardless of what the new year may bring. We saw how contentment requires us to have confidence in the providence of God, trusting that whatever situation we find ourselves in that it is part of God’s good will for us. We were also reminded to take comfort in the provision of God, being thankful even in the little, understanding that even the little is from the unmerited favor of God. Finally, we are to confide in the power of God to help us overcome whatever trial that comes our way. Only when we have fully surrendered to the will of God, and have trusted in His goodness for our lives can we truly become content regardless of what the new year brings. Then can we truly say, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
