Truth and Reconciliation

September 02, 2014

Canada must move away from the idea that Canada has an ‘aboriginal problem’, and acknowledge that Canada has a ‘Canadian problem’. Colonial history is complex and it involves all peoples. All Canadians are part of the problem, as well as the solution.

The story told in the sermon is a narration of “Linking Arms, the Haudenausee Context of the Covenant Chain”, by Richard Hill, Grand River Tuscarora, found in “Mamow Be-Mo-Tay-Tah – Let us Walk Together”, a truth and reconciliation resource published by the Canadian Council of Churches in 2009.
