You just can’t have a podcast about Mount Desert Island and not have an episode about boats and boat building.
We had a great time with founder Jock Williams and CEO Jaime Weir of John Williams Boatyard Co. and we are pretty sure we will head that way for lunch soon, not just to see the boatyard but also to see the historic site of the original granite quarry in Hall Quarry.
We got a great little piece of oral history from Jock beginning in 1967 with the formation of the boatyard all the way to outriggers in Somes Sound.
