BUSINESS MATTERS-WHERE YOUR SMALL BUSINESS MATTERS

The Business of Writing

May 01, 2013

If you have written novels, and decided to forego the traditional route, this month is for you! I will feature authors who share how to build a following, format, make choices about covers, marketing and building an audience, whether to do the entire process by yourself or outsource certain projects, everything you might want to know about self-publishing. This week I feature two authors who led professional lives before chasing the dream of writing a novel. Tim E.D spent 15 years hosting live television, won broadcaster of the year, increased ratings for his channel, and won best show two years in a row. The Fight Network, America One, ALN, and affiliates for CW, Fox, Mynetwork, and NBC are just some of the channels in which he has appeared. Tim is currently the crown jewel of cable cup winner for Pro Wrestling. He recently penned his memoirs in a book about reaching your dreams and not taking no for an answer, called “Lake Titicaca”. He will share with us his tricks for selling it independently. Connie Walker was in journalism, did some PR, wrote magazine articles, produced and directed documentary videos, hosted a writers group on AOL from ’94 – ’07, and then finally pursued her dream of writing. After having five novels published the traditional way, she decided to e-publish her own books. She joined an internet group of other published authors who banded together to learn this new business and her first e-book, ”WARM WINTER LOVE” is now on AMAZON/Kindle. So tune in, call in, chat in, and remember, stay inspired!
