Why would you want to repurpose content?

- If you are looking to increase the volume and frequency of content published on your blog or website, you may want to consider republishing content. This includes looking at topics you have written about from different perspectives, so it is the same content, but from another angle or with a spin. Lets say for example you blog about the recent arrival of PayPal in Nigeria. You can easily repurpose that content by looking at the use of PayPal first from a buyer’s perspective, and then again from a sellers perspective.

- If you want to revisit content you produced a long time ago, or update it to make it more relevant to the present, you may want to repurpose content. The chronological nature of blogs means usually a lot of content gets unseen by your readers because the content deep in your archives. You may want to bring that back to the fore so that visitors to your blog can see the content. There are several ways of doing this depending on your blogging platform; such as featuring the blog or creating a ‘static page’ for it [in Wordpress], however you may simply re-write the content.

- If you are creating content on multiple platforms, then you may want to repurpose content across those platforms. For example, you may want to repurpose content across your blog, YouTube channel, Podcast, Social Media, e.t.c. This is very popular with superstar bloggers. In fact, many of them automate the repurposing across these many platforms and link it all to their main website. This does wonders for search engine optimisation [SEO].

However when repurposing content, it is important not to just cut and paste, but rather to re-present the content in a fresh way.
