How to generate massive organic traffic to your blog/website/product by marketing in the right place

On this episode of GidiPodcast I talk about how to get organic traffic to your blog/website/product landing page by marketing or promoting it in the right place. There are two major factors to consider in the generation of organic traffic via marketing;

- Eyeballs, and lots of them; you have to market where your potential customers are, otherwise nobody will see your product. Seems obvious, but the key here is ‘potential customers’

- Your core idea must solve a problem otherwise nobody will care.

You must have at least both of these factors above in order to generate the large organic traffic you desire. If you have one and not the other, it wont work. Say you have many eyeballs seeing your product, but it doesn't solve a problem for them, thy wont care. On the other hand, if it solves a problem, but they don't get to see it because your product is marketed somewhere else that they never go, no organic traffic for you.

A good example of this in Nigeria is the mobile toilets business. It solves a problem and the original proprietors marketed it perfectly.

- What is the need? Well, everyone needs to use the toilet at given intervals. There is however a scarcity of public toilets in many parts of Nigeria. Where large numbers of people gather for a long period of time, this becomes an issue.

- Where is the right place? Not only do you need it to be a place where many people gather, they have to be able to access the toilet right? They marketed their mobile toilets to large events like wedding parties, festivals and public parks! High traffic yet accessible areas.

It goes without saying that the mobile toilets business in Nigeria is a runaway success - a result of a product that solves a problem and effective marketing.
