Confessions of a GameDev
Episode 23 - Feminism, Game Design, and SimCity
It’s Episode 23 with Spencer and Karratti, and we’ve got returning guest Adam Hunter and first-time guest Jake Muehle in to talk about the PR fiasco surrounding EA’s SimCity release last week. We also discuss opinions about Anita Sarkeesian and her first video in the “Tropes Vs Women In Video Games” series, (you know, because being four guys definitely qualifies us as experts in that. <grin>) As well, we talk about the new Boy Scout Game Design merit badge, and discuss the wider effects that game design may have in breaking away from some of the “traditional” ways of thinking about learning in school, the workplace, and beyond.
As always, we were a little all over the place, but we absolutely love our listeners. We’d love to hear more from you guys! If you like/dislike/disagree/cheer about/love/hate our discussions, or would even just like a shout out, please feel free to jot us a comment, or go ahead and send us an email at gamedevconfess@gmail.com!
