Reading a book at the beach

First up, we’re taking a look back at this year’s Baileys Prize shortlist, and highlighting For Books’ Sake favourites like The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri.

Then, we’re getting up close and personal with Baileys Prize winner Eimear McBride, who scooped the award for her debut novel, A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing.

In our Eimear McBride interview from last year, we chatted about feminism, the writing process, and much more besides, so definitely check that out if you want to find out more.

Want to know what you should be reading this summer? Our summer reads feature (forthcoming on Monday) will have recommendations galore, and there’s a few to keep you going in this month’s podcast episode.

Featured summer reads include Bonjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan, Eleanor Catton‘s Booker-winning The Luminaries and Frog Music by Emma Donoghue, and we’d love your suggestions too – so hit us up in the comments with your ultimate summer reads.

And in celebration of National Flash Fiction Day, we’ve got a short short story, Dancing Doves, from author Lynsey May. For more, check out our tips on how to write flash fiction and where to find the best flash fiction online and in print.
