Now to the latest EyeClarity episode.

Hey, everybody. Welcome to the program. So this is going to be a quick hitter today. I get a lot of these questions on TikTok. And so this is very fast advice, practical advice on how to take care of your cornea, lens, vitreous, and retina. So here we go for a crash course. We’re going to start at the front of the eye.

So with the cornea, hydration is number one, and collagen health is number two. Number three is eyelid inflammation. So the more you can reduce eyelid inflammation, because that’s the place that produces the tears that cover the cornea. That’s going to boost cornea health. So how do you do all this? Well, number one, with Eyelid Health, you got to keep your eyelashes clean. I like to do something like a castor oil eye massage in the evening. That’s great.

As an anti-inflammatory practice for the cornea, I like using the MSM eyedrops. Again, MSM is a Collagen creator. You need to hydrate four to six times a day. Make sure you’re getting enough omega three fats and oils. That’s also helpful for eyelid inflammation and cornea health.

Alright, next we’re going to move to the lens. This is where so many people get cataracts. The key is to eliminate sugar from your diet because it’s the glucose molecule that attaches to the protein molecule glycation. I’ve talked about that process, and that starts the development of oxidative stress and cataract formation. Next, make sure you’re getting your glutathione and vitamin C. Again, you can get that through your foods. You can also get it through a supplement. Maybe you need to do both if you’ve been diagnosed with cataracts and then some other things like alpha lipoic acid, lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin A. Again, you can get these either in your foods or if you’ve been diagnosed with cataracts. I would actually consider supplementing as well as cleaning up your diet.

Alright, next, let’s move to the vitreous. This is where we get those frustrating floaters. Again, vitreous collagen health. The collagen breaks down the vitreous shrinks, so you want to hydrate with MSM drops. Also, you’ve seen some of my other video blogs. I talk about digestive enzymes. My number one is bromelain that has been shown to reduce certain types of vitreous opacities. And so again with vitreous and floaters. Blue blocker protection. Antioxidants doing some kind of a detox, making sure your dental health is up to par, so maybe going to a biological dentist, any head traumas. And again, back to this idea of hydrating the vitreous through the MSM drops.

And finally the retina. And I’ll also add the optic nerve. Remember, the retina has one of the highest metabolic needs in the entire body, and the macula has the highest metabolic need of the retina. The retina is made up of about 50% fatty acid, so you want to make sure you’re getting enough fats and oils in your diet. Again, the big three carotenoids, lutein and zeaxanthin, those are the plant carotenoids and astaxanthin, which is the marine carotenoid, making sure your liver and gallbladder are working well because you need the bile to be able to absorb the fat soluble vitamins like vitamin A and lutein and zeaxanthin. So you may either need to do some acupuncture or take some bile salts, or even my gallbladder formula, which will help in the absorption of the fat soluble eye vitamins that are so important for retina health.

Red light therapy. Again, red light helps improve the mitochondria function. I’ve talked about how mitochondria as we age, especially in the eye, reduces its effectiveness. And so this mitochondria boost can regenerate oxidative stress that begins to accumulate in the retina and the macula. Again, blue blockers would be very beneficial, especially if you’re on a lot of screens. And I know this is counterintuitive, but you want to get at least 30 minutes of morning natural sunlight. It helps your mood, your cognitive health, and it also helps your retina health.

So that’s it in a nutshell. Those are the Quick hitters today. I want to thank you so much for your participation. I’ve got more to say, so stay tuned. Take care.
