Tell us a little about yourself:

I’m an Affiliate Marketer, Internet Marketing Consultant, and PHP Programmer working from my home in Buffalo, NY. I’ve been married for 11 years now and we have 3 kids: 2 girls 8 & 10, and my son is 13.

As a work at home parent what is your biggest challenge?

It’s hard for me to relax at home – if I’m reading, or watching TV, or hanging out with the kids, I feel guilty that I’m not getting any “work” done. Having a dedicated office helps, but my laptop means I sometimes bring my work into other areas of the house.

What is the biggest advantage to being a work at home parent?

Being able to be there for my kids… my flexible schedule allows me to take an hour or two and help out at school, or take them to dance practice or a keep an eye on them if a friend is over. They’re only this age once, so take full advantage of it.

As a work at home parent what advice would you give other work at home parents?

Find what works for you. Everyone is different… I need a set schedule, or else I find myself wandering aimlessly (online, around the house, in my office). If I know what’s coming up next, I don’t have to think about it.
