Former New York City Mayor Edward Koch passed away early this morning. Mayor Koch was the consummate New Yorker and a strong supporter of the FDNY and NYPD.  

Benefit Fund Founder Rusty Staub shared his feelings about the loss to New York, ”Mayor Koch to me was one of the greatest mayors in the history of New York City.  I love the way he dealt with issues.  All of us at the Benefit Fund appreciated his support of the widows and children that we have been helping for years.  He was a terrific guy and will sorely be missed”.  “Mayor Koch was a good friend of ours and, as an organization, we were so pleased to have his support over the years.  He will be missed very much by all of us” stated Benefit Fund Chairman Stephen Dannhauser.  

In 2009, we honored Mayor Ed Koch along with the 3 other living Mayors of New York City at our 24th Annual Dinner.   We will miss you Mayor Koch. Thank you for the years of support for our charity.
