Episode 21: Vanessa Flores-Maldonado on the Community Safety Act & the Gang Database
Vanessa Flores Maldonado is a brave freedom fighter and organizer with the Providence Youth Student Movement (PrYSM). She describes here the Community Safety Act (CSA) campaign, a multi-year struggle to pass a law to curb Providence Police brutality, and one of the department’s most vicious instruments of terrorizing Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), the so-called “gang database.” As we approach the end of the year, please consider making a tax-deductible charitable donation to PrYSM via <https://secure.actblue.com/donate/prysm>.
