Berit Brogaard, neuroscientist and professor of philosophy at the University of Miami will be enlightening us about the promising effectiveness of the psychedelic ingredient in magic mushrooms – psilocybin – against clinical depression and anxiety disorders. Psilocybin offers a distinct, important advantage over conventional medications —instead of merely treating a patient’s  physical illness, it also treats the their personal context.
Hopefully one day the current political hysteria will lift  — thereby enabling governments worldwide to encourage the necessary research and development for promising mental health treatments like psilocybin. After all, the World Health Organization lists depression as the number one cause of disability.
