October 03, 2019

On this day in Tudor history, Wednesday 4th October 1536, trouble erupted in Horncastle, Lincolnshire. This was part of what we know as the Lincolnshire Rising which, in turn, was part of the famous Pilgrimage of Grace rebellion. In today's talk, Claire Ridgway, author of "On This Day in Tudor History", shares exactly what happened in Horncastle, which included two murders, what the rebellion was all about, and how King Henry VIII responded to the rebel's grievances. Claire reads King Henry VIII's own words to the rebels of the Pilgrimage of Grace. Here is a link to the article mentioned - https://www.theanneboleynfiles.com/october-1536-pilgrimage-grace/ You can see this podcast as a video at the following link:https://youtu.be/9WBhp2N3hKM You can find Claire at:https://www.theanneboleynfiles.com https://www.tudorsociety.comhttps://www.facebook.com/theanneboleynfiles/https://www.facebook.com/tudorsociety/https://twitter.com/AnneBoleynFiles https://twitter.com/thetudorsociety https://www.instagram.com/tudor.society/ https://www.instagram.com/anneboleynfiles/
