How Much Time Did You Put Into Your Goals❓

December 06, 2020

Hey guys, Ryan DeMent from TruPodcast, I hope you guys are having a great Sunday. I'm back at it early on Sunday morning, grinding away on my goals. I'm hoping that you've put the time in yesterday's Saturday, at least 30 minutes to work on your goals. But I wanted to talk about one thing on Sunday. You're going back to work tomorrow. A lot of people dread going back to work on Monday. And for me, it's another day that ends in Y. But at the same time, I get an opportunity to keep going with my business and growing it, and learning new things.

I'm not working for the man per se, but you need to be able to figure out how you're going to juggle your nine to five, 40 hours or whatever you're working with obtaining your goals. I'm assuming the goals that you're trying to obtain is either starting a business or going back to school or getting a better job, which all those take away from your 40 hours during the week. So when you come home, you're tired, you have responsibilities in your household, and then these goals get left by the wayside.

So my thoughts to you, and just my way of looking at things, I always try to find a way to carve out 30 to 60 minutes each day for me to work on my goals. When I was grinding away for the man, I was working 60 plus hours a week, and I didn't have the ability or luxury to be able to work on my side hustle, which was my business very often, so what did I do? I woke up early, worked on it then, and then I worked on it at night. I worked better in the morning, so that's what worked for me. But I did that for almost five years and that took a lot out of me. And I know it's a lot of work and I know I'm asking a lot, but if you guys really want to get your goals achieved, whichever goal you're working on, you've got to put some energy and time into that side hustle, because if it's not getting attention, it's like anything else. It dies out.

If you don't water the plants, they die out. I mean a relationship, if you don't put the time and effort in the relationship, it dies out. So guys, find a way to schedule a time during the week 30 to 60 minutes every single day, to be able to work on your goals. If you only work on them during the weekend, you're going to kind of lose that momentum and then you're going to be frustrated when you get overwhelmed. Breaking it up into short spurts, maybe it's not 30 or 60 minutes, maybe it's 15 minutes is all you could work on it, go for it, but you've got to do it. You got to be persistent, and you need to be consistent. And if you don't do those things, you're not going to hit your goals. I want to see you guys hit your goals. Hope you guys have a great Sunday, I'll see you guys on the other side and we'll be talking soon.
