Episode 089 - Pastor Suicide, Mental Health and Questions Of Faith, Part 1

On September 12, 2019 the mainstream media covered the suicide-death of Pastor Jarrid Wilson from California. The word that was often used was - "Another". Another Pastor commits suicide. Another faith-leader struggles with mental health. "Another" church wrestles with some heavy theological questions about the mind and faith. In some cases this word "another" was aptly used.  Have widespread access to a 24-hour  new cycle, we have all been privy to the weighty realities of Pastors who have committed suicide recently.

This article speaks to the issue and names additional Pastor's (and their families, churches and communities) that have been faced with these realities.

Suicide is a growing public health crisis and the second leading cause of death for people ages 10 to 34, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2017, more than 47,000 people died by suicide — a rate of about one every 11 minutes. And Pastors and Ministry Leaders are not immune to these realities.
