Episode 050 - SPECIAL EPISODE: A Frank Discussion About "Surviving R. Kelly" and other issues of abuse, family, parenting, and culture (With Special Guests Dee-1 and Devona Alleyne)

In a break from our normal dialogue, show line-up, and podcast segments, we attempt to tackle the tough subjects raised during the recently released Lifetime docu-series "Surviving R. Kelly".

Our Host welcomed national recording artists Dee-1 (pictured here) and clinical therapists Devona Alleyne (pictured below) to the podcast for a multi-angled discussion on the docu-series and the tough topics raised.

Upon Lifetime TV Network's release of the docu-series, the media (including social media) had a constant buzz.  Millions of discussions, threads, comments, videos, blog posts, podcasts and the like were generated from the docu-series.

*DISCLAIMER: While I believe that parents should watch the docu-series AND create dialogue in your home about the topics covered in the docu-series, I would recommend that you watch it first without your children and THEN decide whether your children can handle watching, based on their age, maturity, and ability to process the topics.  PLEASE use HEALTHY discretion.

There are so many angles, conversations and lives impacted. The docu-series raises some very hard questions and lifts up some very difficult topics.

We couldn't discuss every angle and every topic, but just for a few minutes we walked through some pretty heavy waters.
