How important is faith and its relation to culture? Reverend Wendell Brightman Kealohapauole Davis is a descendant of the first Hawaiian missionary, Henry Opukahaia (responsible for bringing the gospel to Hawaii) and Isaac Davis (military counsel for King Kamehameha I). He is an author, songwriter, musician and keynote speaker helping us see faith through culture and culture through faith.
Kahu Wendell Davis serves as Chaplain of Mid-Pacific Institute in Manoa on the island of Oahu. For sixteen years he served as the Senior Pastor of Kahikolu Congregational Church in Kepulu, South Kona and Chaplain of Kamehameha Schools Hawaii. Ordained with the United Church of Christ he possesses a deep understanding of Hawaiian cultural and spiritual values. He is a member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha. Kahu Davis is married to Maria. They have three adult children: Ka’aumoana, Puakailima, and Kaehukaiopalemano.
