First, music history facts for June 8th.

Dolly Parton was at No.1 on the US country chart in 1974 with “I Will Always Love You”. Colonel Tom Parker approached Dolly to have Elvis cover the song. She refused when Parker asked the songwriter to sign over half of the publishing rights. It went on to become a No. 1 hit for Whitney Houston in 1992 featured in The Bodyguard.

Multi-talented Katrina Anastasia is on the show today. She is a singer-songwriter, stylist and designer.

Her debut album released June 3rd. The EP is a story of the emotions present when meeting someone new and letting them get to the best part of yourself.

We talk about her music, the environment and women in music. From the release of her debut single “Soba” Katrina’s unique vocals and harmonies have attracted a growing fan base.

Katrina Anastasia, an all around Artist and Entrepreneur.

Born and raised in Toronto, this Canadian experiments with a dynamic range of vocal melodies; sewn together by alluring harmonies that hug her vocals, these grounded by the stories of her time here and the thoughts within her mind.

Truly an intimate experience for her listeners.

Her unique artistry is a near tribute to those of Sade, Amy Winehouse, Gwen Stefani, and Stevie Nicks combined.

Along with Bob Marley, as an influential artist himself, a reminder to put purpose and intention within her work.

A nostalgic sense of trip-hop, portrayed with her personal twist of self expression and exploration, taking inspiration from the wide array of genres she enjoys.

From the age of 3, she has experimented with songwriting.

Although experienced, she intends to continuously develop, allowing herself to discover the true extent of her artistry.

Accompanied by an ear for music, is her eye for fashion and design.

She works harmoniously; curating her style to her music and vice versa.
