First, music history trivia for April 27 th

In a rare appearance outside the United States, Elvis Presley performed at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Canada. At this 1957 performance he wore his full gold lame suit for the last time.

Madonna went to No.1 on the 2003 UK album chart with American Life, the singer’s eighth No.1 album. Also, a US No.1 album.

Davie Furey and Shay take an inside look at his Haunted Streets album, spinning a few tracks from the release.

He is an incredible talent out of Dublin, Ireland.

Source: Davie Fureys’ new album, Haunted Streets, features some of Ireland’s top musicians including, Steve Wickham (The Waterboys), Darren Holden (The High Kings), ELLYD, Susan O’Neill (SON), Clare Sands, Robbie Campion, MarSn Quinn, Andrew Quinn and Francie Conway.

Of the 11 new tracks on the album, "Secret Light", "Flames on the River", "Fire n’ Gold" and "The Final Frontier" have all reached number one as singles on the Irish Singer/Songwriter and Rock download charts. These singles have also been on the RTE Radio 1 recommended list as well as being PlayIrish song of the week on many regional stations including KCLR and Ocean FM. Some of the album was previewed on his 15 date Irish Tour of 2019. Plans for an Ireland, UK, German and US 2020 Tour had to be shelved due COVID 19 restrictions but rescheduling of these dates are currently underway.

"Flames On The River" is the second single from Davie’s album Haunted Streets. The first single "Secret Light" received huge airplay support helping it go straight to No1 on iTunes (singer/songwriters charts). "So it’s a song of revolution, a song of protest, a song of praising courage, a song of defiance, a song that says you can’t do what you like in the name of people you are supposed to represent.”
