This chapter of Ruth describes Ruth gleaning in the field, being noticed by Boaz and being provided for by him. We no longer live in an agrarian society. We have some hangovers (Harvest festivals/Harvest homes and so on), but the huge bulk of people living in 21st century Britain don’t work the land.

So, what can we learn from this passage about God, his concern for the poor and how he provides for and protects us?
