On today’s My Future Business Show I have the pleasure of spending time with author, playwright and public relations [PR] specialist, ANTHONY MORA.

Along with running his own PR business “PR For Writers & Filmmakers”, Anthony is also an established author. Anthony began his writing career as a freelance journalist and magazine editor, and his literary works have been compared to Fante, Cheever and Salinger.

During his time as a rock journalist, Anthony interviewed dozens of rock star guests including the likes of Pat Benatar, The Doobie Brothers and many other famous artists.

In addition to his writing and rock journalism, Anthony has also served as the playwright-in-residence at The Sidewalk Studio Theatre. He has had seven plays produced including P.O.P.: The Principles of Perfection, Modern Love, and Silencing Silas.

Anthony’s first novel was BANG! A Love Story. Where Linda Cardellini starred in the original play adaptation of BANG! in Los Angeles and New York. Virtual Velocity: an L.A. Story being his second novel.

Recently, Anthony was interviewed on NBC, during which he was praised for his book “Virtual Velocity: An LA Story”. He has also received acclaim from Huffington Post, LA Weekly, and other review sources.  

Virtual Velocity: An L.A. Story, is a story told backwards starting in 2018 and ending in 1966. It’s the journey of Jake Jenkins, a literary novelist, who unwittingly becomes a viral star that takes him from unknown author to bestselling pop phenomena. A homage to the city of Angels, Virtual Velocity is indeed an L.A. story, documenting a city that is in a constant state of disappearing.

During this content-rich call, Anthony and I talk in depth about his experiences as an author, about his books, and also about his PR firm during which he shares many insights into PR, including the importance of brand development and brand awareness in the sales and marketing process.
