Purpose Our Heart
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” John 17:3
With all the chaos going on in the world today, many in the Church have become anxious to fix everything that has gone wrong and make sense out of sin.
We can’t fix sin; Jesus made a way of escape from sin at the cross, we are no longer bound by sin (Rom. 8). At the cross, we were crucified with Christ, so we no longer have to obey our fleshly desires (Rom. 6). And, at the cross Jesus defeated death (Rom. 6). In anxiety we nullify the work of the cross in our testimony to others.
We are called to know Him and to be conformed to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:29). But to know someone requires spending time with them. So, let’s lay all other things aside and purpose in our heart to know Christ and conform to His image so others might know Him by our testimony.
