After the Istanbul Election, What’s Next?

On Sunday, elections for the mayoralty of Istanbul will be held for the second time this year. The first election’s results, which put Nation Alliance candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu in office overAKP candidate and former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, were annulled in May a highly controversial move by Turkey’s Supreme Electoral Council (a move widely seen as being guided by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.) For this week’s podcast, we spoke about the the retail and macro politics of this potentially explosive situation with Steven A.
