Election and Foreknowledge

Rapp Report episode 168

This Rapp Report podcast episode is for those who want to be prepared for the coming persecution, a study of suffering for Christ--but in pursuit of joy. It will deal with some hard issues like election and foreknowledge. Are they true? If so, what should we do?

The book of 1 Peter addresses the issue of suffering for the cause of Christ, and it is also a book that talks about how we can be prepared to suffer. But what does this mean?

If you are not familiar with the doctrines of election or foreknowledge then they will sound like some weird ideas. And if you have heard these doctrines all your life but never really studied them then they may seem strange as well. I think one reason why many people avoid studying these issues is that they do not know where to start or how to study them. There are so many questions and possible objections that come up when talking about the doctrines of election and foreknowledge that it can be hard just getting started in the first place.

This episode will give us a good introduction to both doctrines, along with some practical things we need to do on our own part--in order to prepare ourselves for persecution ahead in America (and elsewhere). The understanding of these doctrines is easily understood when rooted in knowing the attributes of God.
