Episode 1: Welcome to Pine River Library’s PineCast

January 08, 2021

Welcome to the inaugural episode! The PRL PineCast will be dropping into your feed each month to connect you with the Pine River Library in Bayfield, Colorado. Meet your hosts, Darcy & Summer, and learn about how they came to the library. They also discuss impactful books that shaped their worldview (Darcy- Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez and Summer- The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey). In the "Overdue Finds" book recommendation segment, Darcy recommends Gateway to the Moon by Mary Morris and Summer recommends Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia. The "Southwestern Stories," segment, which delves into our local history each month, will cover the history of our library and libraries in the United States. In the library programming segment "Beyond Books" Darcy invites everyone to join their "Finding Happiness in Age of COVID-19" Zoom program on January 25th, hosted by a local Fort Lewis College psychology professor. Look for a new episode of the PineCast the first Friday of each month! Special thanks to Media Right Productions for letting us use their song Jazz in Paris in our episode.
