As we celebrate the start of holy week and Palm Sunday weekend we looked at the significance of the Triumphal Entry in the earthly ministry of Christ. We saw how this event was prophetic in nature, being foretold by various prophets of old and fulfilled by Christ. We also saw how it was an entry that explicitly proclaimed Christ as the King who would redeem His people, not from Rome but from the wrath of God. Finally, we learned that the Triumphal Entry served the purpose of Christ offering Himself as the spotless lamb who would take away the sins of the world. For these reasons, we celebrate Palm Sunday and look forward to the day where believers from every tribe and tongue will stand before the Lamb and hail Him as King.
