PPP11: A Brief History of Public Health Emergency Preparedness in America
Thanks to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the great men and women of our Local and State health departments the United States boasts one of the strongest Public Health systems in the world. In this episode I share the CDC's impressive history, provide background on two key programs focused on Public Health and Healthcare preparedness and response, my first hand experience working disease outbreaks as a Local Public Health Emergency Coordinator and State Hospital Preparedness Coordinator and review the CDC's guidance and latest (3/13/2020) updates on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thank you all for listening, sharing and washing your hands.
