Pentecost! It is the birthday of the Catholic Church, when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles. The Spirit was opened to them, and they used it. We to need to open ourselves up to the gift of the Spirit. Whether we have been confirmed or not, the Holy Spirit wants to be a part of our lives, not just the "Ugly Stepchild" of the Holy Trinity. Pentecost is the Holy Spirit's holy day, and our celebration of Pentecost is one of the most important ones of the year; God wants us to better understand it, so why shouldn't we?
